2026 Free Landfill Disposal Weeks

 (For Bismarck Residents with a Bismarck address within city limits)

April 21 through April 25

September 14 through September 19

Bismarck residents who present their most recent City of Bismarck utility bill or valid driver’s license showing a Bismarck address within city limits, will have free disposal at the landfill during specified weeks. There is a fee to dispose of tires (PDF) at the landfill.

Guidelines for Clean-Up Curbside Collection

Information for Clean-up Curbside and Alley Collection:

  • Tires NOT accepted on the route.  Tires may be taken to the landfill for a disposal fee (PDF).
  • All garbage and special items must be out by 6:00 am on the regular scheduled garbage day.
  • Curbside Collection - Place items for special pick-up on the boulevard by 6:00 am on your regular scheduled garbage day.
  • Alley Collection - Place items for special pick-up in the alley by 6:00 am on your regular scheduled garbage day.
  • Garbage must be bagged and placed at normal collection point.
  • Separate items for collection. This allows us to recycle metals, woods, appliances, etc.
  • Items will be picked up in varied timelines by the type and purpose of the equipment.
  • In addition to the regular refuse collection trucks, we have several pieces of equipment collecting various types of clean up week materials for proper disposal.
  • Tree branches and lumber must be cut and tied in 4-foot lengths or less and no heavier than 2 people can lift.

Unacceptable Items on the Route:

Crews will NOT take the following items on the route.  Fees (PDF) may apply when disposing at the landfill.
