The Board of City Commissioners is scheduled to meet in regular session on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at 5:15 p.m. in the Tom Baker Meeting Room, City/County Office Building, 221 North Fifth Street, Bismarck, North Dakota.

The Invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance will be presented by a Chaplain from the Bismarck Police Department.

The City of Bismarck encourages citizens to provide their comments for public hearing items on the Bismarck City Commission agenda via email to bismarckadmin@bismarcknd.gov. Please include the item number that your comment references. The comments will be sent to the members and placed with the minutes.

To ensure your comments are received before the meeting, please submit them by 3:30 p.m. on the day of the meeting and reference the item your comments address.   7. Resolution declaring petitions for improvements have been received, resolution creating district and ordering preparation of preliminary report, and resolution approving the preliminary report and directing the preparation of plans and specifications for Street Improvement District SI 567.

Consider the request for approval from the Fire Department for the following:

  1. Purchase of an Infrared Hazardous Materials Detection Device referred to as a Fourier-Transform Infrared FT-IR Spectroscopy Device.
  2. Permission for the City of Bismarck to apply for funding from the State Homeland Security Grant Program to assist with local efforts to enhance physical security to protect soft targets/crowded places.
J.

Consider the request for approval from the Police Department for the following:

  1. Permission for the Police Department to solicit donations to support the 2022 Annual Bismarck Police Department Benefit Golf Tournament.
  2. Permission to solicit donations for door prizes to be given away at the Community Event known as the Tri-City Community Picnic held on August 27, 2022.

Consider the request for approval from the Public Works - Service Operations Department for the following:

  1. Permission to purchase 4 loader plows for Roads & Streets operations.
  2. Permission to close competitive bidding for skylight weathercoat recondition at the Public Works Building without bid award and permission to seek contract negotiations with SpecPro, Inc.

Consider the request for approval from the Public Works - Utility Operations Department for the following:

  1. Permission to purchase portable radios for the Waste Water Treatment Plant under the State of North Dakota bid contract.
  2. Permission to pursue grant funding from the State Water Commission for water infrastructure.
