[ARCHIVED] Adopt An Inlet: Keep the storm drains and gutter line clean

Homeowners and businesses are reminded NOT to rake or blow leaves or grass into the street. Landscaping materials such as rock, sand, or fill dirt, should not be placed in the gutter line, even on a temporary basis. The gutter line and storm drains can become plugged with this material and pollute our storm water system and could cause water to back up.

“Adopt An Inlet”. Citizens of Bismarck are encouraged to participate in the “Adopt An Inlet” program. By keeping storm drains near your home clear and free of debris, storm drains can drain properly and aide in rain water draining from city streets resulting in less standing water on your street.

If you have any questions please contact Colleen Peterson at the Public Works office, 355-1700, option 0.
