“Adopt An Inlet”. Citizens of Bismarck are encouraged to clean the storm drains and gutter lines near their homes. By keeping storm drains near your home clear and free of leaves and debris, storm drains can drain properly and aide in rain water draining from city streets resulting in less standing water on your street.
Due to the fall season conditions and streets and gutters being filled with falling leaves, water cannot properly drain from city streets into storm drains. City street sweepers are out to clean streets, but due to ongoing leaf issues, citizen help is appreciated.
Homeowners and businesses are reminded NOT to rake or blow leaves or grass into the street. The gutter line and storm drains can become plugged with this material and pollute our storm water system and could cause water to back up.
