City of Bismarck water customers will notice some changes in their City utility bill starting in October. The City is implementing a new billing software package that will provide enhanced account management capabilities. The new system will also allow the City to move forward with a project to replace its outdated meter reading system with a radio read system.
Billing cycles will be modified starting in October and customers will likely receive their bills at a different time of the month than they have in the past. To see the change in their billing date customers can go to the city website, and follow the link Utility Billing link to find their current customer account number. Starting in October bills will be processed on the 10th, 20th and 30th of the month. Bills will still be due on the 15th day after billing.
The new billing system will also allow the City to offer on-line bill payment. Instructions for this will be included with the October bills.
Customers who currently have set up automatic credit card payments of their bills will need to re-establish this payment arrangement with the City’s new payment site. Current credit card payment plans will end after the September payment. Credit card customers should look for a special mailing later in September to explain these changes.
