The Bismarck-Mandan Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and Burleigh County, in partnership with their consultant KLJ, have conducted the BurleighGrowth2015 Study, a Future Land Use Plan for select townships within Burleigh County.

The purpose of the study was to establish preferred types and intensity of land use for areas outside of the cities of Bismarck and Lincoln, and the extraterritorial zoning area. Plan documents are intended to be used by the MPO and its member jurisdictions for planning activities and jurisdictional development review.

The Final Report is being developed and will be presented to the Burleigh County Planning & Zoning Commission at their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 beginning at 5:15 pm. It will then be presented to the Burleigh County Commission at their scheduled meeting on Wednesday, February 17, 2016. A Public Hearing on the Final Report will be held in conjunction with the Burleigh County Commission meeting to provide a final opportunity for public comment. Both meetings will take place in the Tom Baker Meeting Room of the City/County Office Building located at 221 N. 5th Street, Bismarck, ND.
