The City of Bismarck will begin work today on emergency pipe repairs at the wastewater treatment plant. A manual pumping operation is set up to bypass wastewater flows around the pipe repair project and the City will use the lagoons to balance the flows as they are returned through the wastewater plant.
Citizens should be aware and expect that there will be additional odors in areas near the wastewater treatment plant until the repairs are completed which may take a week to ten days. The additional odors and the location of them will be highly dependent on wind conditions.
