Effective 9:00 AM, Wednesday, January 31, 2024, the traffic signal at the intersection of 7th Street and Arbor Avenue will be taken out of service.
The Stop signs are in place on Arbor Avenue for eastbound and westbound traffic. 7th Street southbound vehicular traffic no longer is required to stop at this intersection. Southbound vehicular traffic will be required to yield to pedestrians in the crosswalks.
Taking the traffic signal out of service is part of a NDDOT federal aid project to rehabilitate 7th Street. Process requires that traffic control devices be reevaluated. The traffic signal no longer meets warrants and will be taken out of service for a 90-day public comment period. At the end of the comment period, it will be determined whether the traffic signal should remain in service or be permanently removed.
Drivers are encouraged to use caution at this intersection, traffic will need time to acclimate to the change in traffic control.
