Be Prepared

Resources provided here will help you become better prepared for an emergency or disaster that may impact you or your family – at home or at work.    A good starting point for being prepared for any type of disaster event is to ensure you have capability to receive alerts/warnings, have a communications plan and disaster supply kit, and to have plans to effectively take any of these four response actions depending on requirements of the incident type and the situation at your location:

  • Evacuate (PDF)
  • Shelter In Place at home or work (hazardous materials incident occurs outside of the home)
  • Sheltering at Home (ex:  severe summer weather, winter weather, or pandemic)
  • Lock Down (PDF)  Learn about active shooter response - Department of Homeland Security booklet
