Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library can help connect you to resources for tax season. Library staff are not able to assist with specific tax questions.

Federal Tax Forms

Paper copies of the 1040 form and instruction booklet are available for pickup at the library. See our Information Desk staff for assistance with accessing and printing any additional federal tax forms. The cost for printing is $0.10 per page.

State Tax Forms

The library does not receive printed copies of North Dakota tax forms for distribution. See our Information Desk staff for assistance with accessing and printing state tax forms. The cost for printing is $0.10 per page.

Tax Preparation

AARP Tax Aide

All AARP Foundation TaxAide appointments for this season are booked. There is no waiting list. You may visit the TaxAide website to search for and reserve any cancelled appointments.

VITA

VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) offers free tax preparation to people who generally make $69,000 or less. Each return prepared through the VITA program undergoes a quality review to ensure accuracy, and every volunteer meets or exceeds IRS standards for training, ethics, and confidentiality.

The following items are required for your appointment:

  • All tax documents (e.g. Forms W-2, 1099, 1098, 1095)
  • Social Security cards or ITIN letters for all persons on your tax return
  • Your government-issued photo ID (and spouse's government-issued photo ID if filing jointly)
