[ARCHIVED] City of Bismarck Self-fill Sandbag Sites Closed

Citizens are reminded to continue protecting their homes from floodwaters and are advised not to take down any sandbags or protective measures at this point in time. The river is still very high and people need to be very cautious. While flows are forecasted to decrease, the river gage height today is at 18.76 feet - just below 19 feet; flood stage is 16 feet. Flows are expected to stay at these high levels in July and August and the forecast could change due to a significant weather event.

Citizens are asked to keep sandbags in place and to do what is necessary to protect your personal property.

Self-fill sandbag sites are closed. Sandbags are no longer being accepted at self-fill sites. Unused sandbags can be returned to the Bismarck Landfill from 8 am – 6 pm Monday – Friday; 8 am – 4 pm Saturday.

A plan is being developed for sandbag disposal. Citizens will be notified when it is safe to remove protective measures and when sandbag disposal sites become available.
