Notice is hereby given that the Burleigh County Planning Commission will hold public hearings on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 5:15 p.m. in the Tom Baker Meeting Room, City-County Office Building, 221 North 5th Street, Bismarck, North Dakota, to consider the following items:
• Request of Burleigh County for a zoning ordinance text amendment relating to the FP Floodplain District Regulations (Article 21). The proposed amendments would modify many sections of this article and would bring Burleigh County’s Floodplain District Regulations in line with requirements of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The proposed amendments also include provisions that would require new residential structures, attendant utilities, accessory buildings and substantial improvements to existing structures to be elevated on fill to at least two feet above the base flood elevation.
• Request of Burleigh County for a zoning ordinance text amendment relating to meat packing facilities (Articles 3, 7, 8 and 18). The proposed amendments would remove meat packing facilities from the Industrial use group, allow such facilities as a special use in the Industrial District and provide standards for these facilities.
At the hearings, the Burleigh County Planning Commission will provide an opportunity for all interested persons to be heard with respect to these items.
