Bismarck Mayor Mike Seminary is looking for candidates interested in serving on the Bismarck Planning and Zoning Commission. The volunteer committee has two open positions. One position is an unexpired term through April 2020 and one is an unexpired term through April 2022. Anyone residing in the City of Bismarck is eligible for these appointments.

The deadline for applications is Friday, January 12, 2018. It is anticipated that the new board members will be announced at the January 23, 2018, Board of City Commissioners’ meeting.
The City Planning and Zoning Commission is an 11-member advisory board appointed by the Bismarck City Commission to guide the logical and orderly development of the City by means of a comprehensive land use plan. The Planning and Zoning Commission reviews and conducts public hearings on development applications such as zoning changes, subdivision plats, annexations, special use permits and Zoning Ordinance text amendments; and makes recommendations to the Board of City Commissioners.
The Planning and Zoning Commission board meets the fourth Wednesday of every month at 5:00 p.m. in the City-County Building, 221 N 5th Street, Bismarck.
