Tickets are available for the 2024 Bismarck Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast. This year’s event is set for May 16 at the Bismarck Radisson Hotel.

Single ticket and half- and full-table ticket options are available for purchase. Single tickets are $25, with half tables going for $250 and full tables for $500. Money raised from this event supports Crisis Care Chaplaincy (CCC).

“Crisis Care Chaplaincy fills a critical need every day in our community,” said Bismarck Mayor Mike Schmitz, who will serve as emcee for the event. “For 45 years the chaplains with this organization have been available to individuals who are often experiencing tragic circumstances. I’m proud to further the fundraising tradition that helps ensure this wonderful organization is available for our first responders and our community.”

This year’s event speaker is Vern Dosch. Dosch has served the Rural Electric and Telecommunication Industry for 45 years, most recently as the president and CEO of the National Information Solutions Cooperative (NISC) from 2002 to 2020. NISC is an information technology company that develops and supports accounting, billing and engineering software for more than 860 electric cooperatives, telephone companies, municipalities and broadband providers in all 50 states, American Samoa, Palau and Canada.

Following his retirement in January 2020, Dosch answered the call to assist the State of North Dakota in software development used in the COVID-19 response. In October of 2021 he was inducted into the National Cooperative Hall of Fame in a ceremony at the National Press Club in Washington, DC.

A constant presence in the community, Dosch has served on the Boards of CHI St. Alexus Medical Center, University of Mary, Bismarck State College Foundation, Starion Bank, Light of Christ Capital Campaign, God’s Child Project Foundation, Higher Education Roundtable, Capital Grounds Planning Commission, Yellowstone Strategies, The Gaia Home Project, North Dakota Department of Commerce LIFT Program and Missouri Slope Areawide United Way.

Vern Dosch Headshot“When it comes to the spirit of serving, I think you’d be hard-pressed to find a better example of it than Vern Dosch,” said CCC Chaplain Greg Carr. “From his work with software solutions throughout the country to his support of so many community organizations, Vern has shown there are no limits to how you can make the world around you a better place.”

Individuals and groups interested in attending the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast may RSVP by calling Travis Rau at (701) 355-1894 by Thursday, May 4, or register online through Eventbrite

On the day of the event, doors open at 7 AM and the prayer breakfast will run from 7:15 to 8:15 AM. Bismarck’s Radisson Hotel is located at 605 East Broadway Avenue.

Crisis Care Chaplaincy is designed to support first responders and the individuals they serve who may be facing a personal crisis.
