[ARCHIVED] Bismarck Human Relations Committee Extends Call for Annual Humanitarian Award Submissions

Humanitarian Award copy

The City of Bismarck’s Human Relations Committee (HRC) is extending its call for Humanitarian Award submissions.

The original deadline window for submissions was set to close on April 20, but when the HRC moved their reoccurring meeting to a different day of the week, it changed the cadence available between their next scheduled meetings. The new deadline for Humanitarian Awards submissions is May 15.

The Humanitarian Award honors a community adult, youth and business or non-profit organization that has exhibited leadership in the areas of human and civil rights during the previous year, with a focus on recognizing persons in the community who educate, identify issues and address human rights. This is the first year that a youth category has been offered as an award category.

There are multiple ways to submit your nominations:

  • Nominations may be submitted through the online form on the City of Bismarck website by 11:59 PM on May 15.
  • Nominations may be emailed by 11:59 PM on May 15. Email nominations must include all applicable information from the online form questions.
  • Nominations may be dropped off with the Bismarck Administration Department by 4:59 PM on May 15. These nominations must include all applicable information from the online form questions. The Administration Department is located on the fourth floor of the City/County Building (221 North Fifth Street in Bismarck).
  • Nominations may be mailed to the Administration Department, but submissions received after May 15 will not be eligible. Mailed applications must include all applicable information from the online form questions. Please address the envelope:
