[ARCHIVED] Bismarck Burleigh Public Health to Lead an "At Your Workplace Walk"

In observance of National Public Health Week Bismarck Burleigh Public Health is leading an “At Your Workplace” Walk starting at 12:15 p.m., Thursday, April 8, at Bismarck Burleigh Public Health (BBPH).

Adult Americans spend a majority of their waking hours at work, and many are in sedentary careers. Brisk walking for as little as 30 minutes a day will help improve your health!

Walking improves your health!
• Improves self-image and energy level
• Reduces stress and anxiety
• Increases enthusiasm and optimism
• Improves muscle tone and strength
• Increases circulation
• Lowers blood cholesterol, triglycerides and blood pressure levels
• Reduces weight, and
• Lowers bone loss

BBPH encourages you to Start Walking at your workplace! You can gain about two hours of life expectancy for each hour of regular exercise, even if you don't start until middle age.
