[ARCHIVED] September is National Preparedness Month - “Pledge to Prepare, Awareness to Action”

September 2012 marks the ninth annual National Preparedness Month. This year’s slogan is: “Pledge to Prepare, Awareness to Action”.

The goal this year is to transform awareness into action by encouraging all Americans to take specific steps to ensure that their homes, workplaces, and communities are prepared for disasters and emergencies of all kinds.

Make a difference for yourself, your community and our nation. Pledge to do one of the following:

1. Learn your risks and responses
2. Build an emergency supply kit 3. Make a family communications plan
4. Get involved in preparedness in your community
