Every spring, Bismarck Police Employees are honored at the annual Awards Program, hosted by the Bismarck Police Department. This year the celebration will be at the Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library, 515 N. 5th Street, meeting room A at 3:00 pm on June 24, 2010.
Awards are decided on and reviewed by a panel of sworn and civilian employees of the BPD who sit on the Awards Board. Employees are nominated by their co-workers and these nominations are reviewed by the board and a decision is rendered. The Awards Program is a celebratory event, which reflects on the achievements and remarkable stories of BPD employees, sworn and non-sworn, as well as volunteers.
Some of the awards will be BPD Officer and Employee of the Year, Distinguished Service, Meritorious Service, Safe Driving, Hostile Engagement, Life Saving, Letters of Recognition, and Retirement Presentations.
The public is invited to attend the ceremony to honor members of the Bismarck Police Department who have done an outstanding job. For more information, contact Sergeant Mark Buschena, 355-1874.
