[ARCHIVED] Early Monday Morning Fire Damages Bismarck Business

Shortly after 1:00 a.m. Monday morning, the Bismarck Fire Department responded to a commercial structure fire at A&G Auto Mart located at 2121 Lee Ave.

Firefighters encountered heavy fire coming out of one of the five overhead doors on arrival. Fire crews implemented an aggressive fire attack utilizing their largest nozzles. The majority of the fire was put out in about 20 minutes.

Firefighters were successful in containing the fire to the one unit where it originated. Two adjacent units within the structure received smoke damage. Total damages are estimated to be at least $100,000.

No persons were in the unit at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported at the incident. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The fire department was assisted by the Bismarck Police Department, Metro Area Ambulance and MDU.
