[ARCHIVED] Bismarck Fire Department Responds to Mobile Home Fire

At 7:33 A.M. the Bismarck Fire Department responded to a mobile home fire in the 100 block of American Avenue. Upon arrival firefighters encountered smoke coming from the front entry door and smoke and flames visible in a bedroom window. Firefighters battled the fire and contained it to the bedroom, which did receive significant damage from fire and smoke. There was smoke damage through the rest of the home.

A resident reportedly had left briefly, and returned home to discover the fire. The other residents were not home at the time of the fire. There were no injuries to residents or firefighters.

The family will, at least temporarily, be displaced by the fire. Red Cross has provided temporary housing assistance to the displaced family.

Preliminary fire loss estimate is $8500. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but appears to be accidental.
