The public is invited to participate in a discussion on how to work together as a community to raise healthy kids. Go! Bismarck-Mandan, a community health coalition, will host this event on Monday, March 18 from 6:30-8 pm at the Bismarck Public Schools Career Academy. The Academy is located at 1221 College Drive, on the Bismarck State College Campus. There is no charge to attend.

The evening will open with the viewing of the HBO documentary, “Weight of the Nation, Children in Crisis.” Following the film, a round table discussion will be held. Panelists for the evening include Dr. Parag Kumar, a pediatrician with Sanford Health; Dr. Joan Connell, a pediatrician with UND Family Medicine; Jennifer Conlon, a Mandan Public Schools physical educator; Kurt Weinberg, a physical educator with Bismarck Public Schools; Becky Heinert, the nutrition director of Mandan Public Schools and Joan Knoll, a dietitian with Bismarck Public Schools.

Parents, teachers, school PTO and PAC members, school nurses and administrators as well as childcare providers are encouraged to attend and contribute to the discussion. Please share this invitation and the attached flyer with anyone who has a great interest in our kids’ health!
