The Bismarck Historical Society St. Patrick’s Day, “Quiz and Quaff” program scheduled for March 13 at the Blarney Stone, has regrettably been cancelled. Thus, there will be no March program.
The April 10 tour of the Edmund A. Hughes House has also been cancelled and will be replaced by a “sneak preview” tour of the 54 million dollar expansion project at the State Heritage Center, and oh, what sights you’ll see. In addition to the tour, there will be a presentation about the spectacular new exhibits that will grace the awesome new spaces.
However, a word of caution, the tour is long and somewhat physically demanding with quite a lot of walking and standing as well as stairs to climb and with virtually no place to sit or rest along the way. Due to safety and security concerns (this will still be an active construction project), participants must be gathered in the building by 7:05 P.M. at which time the doors will be locked and no further admittance allowed. Seating and refreshments will be available during the exhibit presentation after the tour. Reservations are required and may be made by calling Donna at 701-255-2586.
