The Bismarck Board of City Commissioners received an update and progress report of the Strategic Plan at the March 12, City Commission meeting and were delighted to see the headway that’s been made in the past year towards accomplishing the plan’s identified goals and objectives.
“In a little less than a year we’ve made great strides implementing the plan that citizens helped us create,” said Josh Askvig, Bismarck City Commissioner. “While there is plenty of work to be done, the steps we’ve taken thus far demonstrate significant progress towards our vision of being a preferred destination place where people enjoy living, learning, working, and playing.”
“Progress is continuously monitored and as a result we’re able to regularly assess whether objectives are being met. This provides us the opportunity to fine-tune objectives and ensures that the plan is being successfully executed and achieved,” continued Commissioner Askvig. “The Strategic Plan serves as our road map as we move towards our desired future. It is used as a guide for decision making and to show progress.”
The City of Bismarck Strategic Plan was adopted March 27, 2012 through a collaborative process engaging citizens and community stakeholders.
