[ARCHIVED] Bismarck Mayor’s Prayer Luncheon to be Held May 8

The annual Bismarck Mayor’s Prayer Luncheon, will be held May 8, 2013, at 12:00 Noon until 1:00 p.m. Sr. Thomas Welder will deliver the keynote address. The event will take place at the Ramkota Inn, 800 South Third Street, Bismarck. Businesses may reserve table sponsorships, for a table of eight or for a table of four. Individual tickets may be reserved for $25.00. Reservations are required and must be made in advance by 5:00 p.m., May 3, 2013. For information regarding sponsorships, tickets and to make reservations, call 701-355-1889 and leave a message. Proceeds from the luncheon will benefit the Crisis Care Chaplaincy program.

Sister Thomas Welder, a native of Bismarck, North Dakota, served the University of Mary, formerly Mary College, since 1963, was named college president in 1978 and retired in June of 2009 after serving as president of the college for 30 years. She is a member of the Benedictine Sisters of Annunciation Monastery and has led an extraordinary life committed to God and her community.

Sister Thomas is recognized as a woman who lives, serves and leads by example. She has served on numerous boards and has been actively involved in professional organizations and religious affiliations on both a state and national level. Her personal achievements, character and leadership have been an inspiration to countless individuals, students, entrepreneurs, and business and state leaders.

The Crisis Care Chaplaincy serves the Bismarck Police and Fire Departments, Bismarck Rural Fire Department, Burleigh County Sheriff, and the N.D. State Highway Patrol.
