[ARCHIVED] National Public Safety Telecommunications Week April 14-20

The Bismarck/Burleigh Combined Communications Center is celebrating National Public Safety Telecommunications Week, April 14-20, 2013. This week, celebrated annually, honors the men and women who respond to emergency calls, dispatch emergency professionals and equipment, and render life-saving assistance to our citizens.

Across the nation in times of intense personal crisis and community-wide disasters, the first access point for those seeking all classes of emergency services is 9-1-1. The local public safety communications centers that receive these calls have emerged as the first and single point of contact for persons seeking immediate relief during an emergency.

The Board of City Commissioners for the City of Bismarck has declared the week of April 14th-20th, 2013 to be National Public Safety Telecommunications Week in Bismarck, in honor of the men and women whose diligence and professionalism keep our community and its citizens safe.

Public safety communications never takes a day off, and we salute you—this week and every week.
