[ARCHIVED] Awards presented at the 2012 BPD Awards Ceremony

The Bismarck Police Department held a ceremony today to recognize members of the community who, through their actions made a difference. The ceremony was held in conjunction with the Departments Employee Awards ceremony.

The Ceremony recognized ten citizens, they being:

Eileen Hamann-Received a Letter of Recognition for assisting police in apprehending a person who was ultimately charged with motor vehicle theft and numerous other charges.

Lori Leifson- Received a Letter of Recognition for assisting police in apprehending a person who was ultimately charged with Armed Robbery.

Tyler Kientopf- Received a Letter of Recognition for assisting police in apprehending a person who was ultimately charged with Armed Robbery.

Justin Dockter-Received a Certificate of Appreciation for her actions during a medical emergency.

Randy Leifson, Jeff Marcyes, Peter Traynor-Received Citizen Meritorious Award for assisting police in apprehending a person who was ultimately charged with Armed Robbery.

Thomas Clooten, Kelsey Boxrud, David Winbauer- Received Citizen Meritorious Award for coming to the assistance of a Bismarck Police Officer while making an arrest.

Employee of the Year Sworn
Officer Robert Carvell – Patrol Officer

Employee of the Year Non Sworn
Rod Hill – Maintenance Worker I

Hostile Engagement Award
Officer Jeremy Curtis- Honored for actions taken responding to domestic 3-16-2012

Meritorious Service Award
Officer Jeremy Curtis- Honored for actions taken responding to domestic 3-16-2012

Distinguished Service Award
Officer Robert Carvell – Honored for dedicated service to the FTO program
Officer Paul Olson – Honored for accomplishments on extensive drug investigation

Commendable Service Certificate
Sergeant Nolan Canright – Honored for accomplishments while CP Officer

Letter of Recognition
Detective Matthew Fullerton – Honored for extensive investigation work on burglaries

Safe Driving Certificate – Given to members of the department who routinely perform their duties in a department vehicle and have not been the cause of a traffic crash in five years. Eight employees received this award.

Physical Fitness Award Given to sworn employees who score the highest on the fitness
test according to their age bracket and in certain categories
