[ARCHIVED] Bismarck Fire Department Responds to Two Separate Structure Fires on Sunday Afternoon

The afternoon of Sunday, May 12, the Fire Department fought two unrelated structure fires. There were no injuries from the two fires but six persons were displaced from their home in the first fire and five were displaced because of the second fire.

The first fire occurred in a mobile home at 510 Stratford Drive at 3:40 pm. Fire was contained to a bedroom area and the total fire loss is estimated at $6,000. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

The second structure fire occurred at 5:10 pm in a two-story duplex located at 1040 Westwood Street. Upon arrival, fire units encountered fire coming from both decks and extending into the structure. After the initial search and rescue assignments were completed the fire was attacked and extinguished. The total fire loss is estimated at $250,000. The fire appears to be accidental starting within a grill assembly on the deck.
