[ARCHIVED] Bismarck Public Works Continues Tree Material Pick-up Operations

Bismarck Public Works is continuing clean-up operations to remove street tree branches and materials that occurred during the snow event last Friday. “Our first concern is public safety. We focus first on removing weak tree branches and tree materials from public streets that present the most safety risk,” said Jeff Heintz, Director, Service Operations. We ask residents to place tree materials on the boulevard, not in the street. Tree materials must be cut into four-foot lengths, bundled, and placed on the boulevard. The tree materials will be picked up from residential areas on the regularly scheduled garbage pickup day. Public Works crews will work throughout the week to prune damaged street trees. Property owners are responsible for removing tree materials from private property.

Boulevard trees damaged in areas currently under road construction will be pruned as soon as weather permits due to access issues and muddy road conditions resulting from last Friday’s snow event. We ask for your patience during the cleanup process.

Tree materials may also be disposed of at the Bismarck landfill for a nominal fee to dispose of wood waste. For more information about landfill fees and hours of operation click the link found below.
