[ARCHIVED] Applications Sought for Renaissance Zone Authority

Bismarck Mayor John Warford is looking for candidates interested in serving on the Bismarck Renaissance Zone Authority. The volunteer committee has one open position, which is a 3-year term through December 2016. Anyone residing in the City of Bismarck is eligible for this appointment.

Interested applicants should complete an application form describing their qualifications, background and why they would like to serve on the Authority. Complete applications should be sent to:

Forms can also be mailed by calling the Community Development Department at (701) 355-1840 or may be picked up at the department office at 221 N 5th Street, Bismarck. Additional information on the position and the appointment process can also be obtained by contacting the department office.

The deadline for applications is 12 noon on Wednesday, February 12, 2014. It is anticipated that the new Authority member will be announced at the February 25th meeting of the Board of City Commissioners.

The Renaissance Zone Authority is a seven member advisory board that makes recommendations on requests for designation as a Renaissance Zone project and CORE Incentive Grant program applications. The Renaissance Zone Authority also provides guidance on Downtown Design Review and other activities impacting the core of the community.

The Renaissance Zone Authority meets the third Tuesday of every month at 4:00 p.m. in the City-County Building, 221 N 5th Street, Bismarck.
