[ARCHIVED] Bismarck Lockport Fire Station Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening Oct. 21, 2010

The Bismarck Lockport Fire Station will start the day’s events with a Ribbon Cutting Oct. 21, 2010, 11:00 a.m., at the Lockport Fire Station, 4217 Lockport Street. Bismarck Mayor John Warford, City Commissioners and City Officials together with EACP Architects & Engineers and the Bismarck Mandan Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors will take part in the Ribbon Cutting.

A Grand Opening Open House for the public will follow from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Lockport Fire Station and will include Sparky the Fire Dog and tours of the new fire station. “We are delighted to have the ability with this new fire station to enhance our capacity to supply prompt, timely fire, emergency medical response, and overall rescue services to the citizens of Bismarck, said Fire Chief Joel Boespflug. “We welcome the opportunity to showcase our new facility to the citizens of Bismarck and encourage the public to take part in the open house and station tours on Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.”, said Boespflug.

“We are very pleased to now be able to provide the expanded fire, emergency response and rescue services that meet our ever-growing community’s needs with this new fire station, an important piece of our City’s public safety infrastructure,” said Mayor John Warford. The Lockport Fire Station construction project began in April 2009 and continued until June 2010 when the City took possession, occupied the building and began making the final preparations for the opening of the new 12,000 square foot fire station. The Lockport Fire Station will provide service to the area from Horizon School east to Centennial Road and north from I-94 to the Bismarck City limits. The cost of the Lockport Fire Station is estimated at two million dollars.
