Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health is launching a new Moving More Eating Smarter Recognition Program that will recognize restaurants, childcare providers, and churches that support healthy lifestyles and make the healthy choice the easy choice.
Restaurant owners will receive free nutritional analysis of their recipes. Menu items that meet pre-approved nutritional guidelines will be able to showcase entrees that are lower in fat, calories, and sodium and include components such as whole grains, fruits and vegetables by highlighting them with a GO! Bismarck Mandan stamp of approval.
Churches and childcare providers receive recognition when they meet fifteen guidelines that focus on healthy food, moving more and support of mom and baby teams during their breastfeeding period. This new community project supports families to include healthy choices where they eat, live, worship, and play on a daily basis, which helps to build a healthier community.
Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health plans and promotes health and safety for all residents. GO! Bismarck Mandan is a healthy community coalition and supports the new recognition program.
