[ARCHIVED] Bismarck Police Respond to a Barricaded Subject

On October 12, 2015, at 9:07pm, Police were notified that a male subject had threatened another male with a gun inside a residence on the 700 Block of North 35th Street. The threatened subject and a female fled the residence and contacted Police.

Patrol responded and attempted to make phone contact with the armed individual inside but received no response. Police were advised this subject had access to numerous firearms and ammunition. He also has a very concerning criminal history.

Situation involves an armed, barricaded subject, so the West Dakota SWAT Team was notified at approximately 11:00pm. Negotiations were started however; the subject was totally uncooperative and in fact fired rounds at Police. A safety perimeter is set up and surrounding residences have been evacuated.

The situation is isolated and contained to the residence on n 35th street and Police are working for a peaceful resolution.

The sub is a 36 year old male.
