[ARCHIVED] Open Burning Not Allowed within Bismarck City Limits

The Bismarck Fire Department reminds residents that open burning of leaves, rubbish or garden waste is not allowed within the city limits. While many people enjoy the smell of burning leaves, under city ordinance it is considered a nuisance. The smoke emitted from the burning of leaves or rubbish can be a health and safety concern for many with health issues. In addition the smoke creates many nuisance calls that can affect the response of emergency personnel that have to investigate sources of smoke.

If you would like to enjoy an outdoor fire, please use an outdoor portable fireplaces, fire pits or chimeneas using dry fire wood only.
