[ARCHIVED] Bismarck Police Promotes Sergeant

Today the Bismarck Police Department held a ceremony for an officer who was promoted to the rank of Sergeant effective January 20th. Kent Kaylor is being promoted to Sergeant and will be assigned to the patrol section.
He has been employed with the Bismarck Police Department since February, 2008. From 2008 to 2010 he worked on patrol. In 2010 he became the department’s crime analyst where he is currently working. He is a member of the West Dakota SWAT Team and in 2013 he was named Bismarck Police Officer of the Year.
Prior to working here he worked for Mandan PD from 2006 to 2008. He attended Jamestown College from 1998 to 2002. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Minor in General Management, and a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Science and Minor in Information Technology.
The Bismarck Police Department has a current authorized strength of 116 sworn officers and 30 civilians.
