WHEREAS, all citizens deserve to feel safe and protected in their homes, schools, businesses and communities; and

WHEREAS, law enforcement professionals deal with many difficult situations in their efforts to protect citizens from harm; and

WHEREAS, the WE SUPPORT THE BADGE initiative targets the development of strategies that will lead to the recruitment of individuals to serve in our communities as law enforcement professionals and to engage students in considering careers in law enforcement; and

WHEREAS, the initiative works to bring diverse community groups, businesses and individuals together in recognition of the role law enforcement plays daily in their personal and professional lives: and

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mike Seminary, Mayor of the City of Bismarck and this Board of City Commissioners, do hereby proclaim our recognition and support of "We Support the Badge".
