At 2:30 pm on Monday, December 20th, the Street Department will begin plowing snow emergency routes and major arterial streets. At midnight crews will begin plowing school routes and residential streets. Crews will continue to plow until all streets are cleared.
Please move vehicles off the street and keep them off the street until the plows are finished in your area. Depending on the amount of snow, crews are normally finished plowing the entire city within 48 hours.
A reminder to all citizens, businesses, and contractors: According to City Ordinance a person may not move, dump or deposit by any means any snow or ice accumulated on private property onto any public street, alley, or public right-of-way. The fine for this violation is up to $1,000. It is the property owner’s responsibility to clear snow around their mailbox.
