Benjamin Williams, twenty-one, was taken into custody by the Bismarck Police at 6:25 a.m. this morning. Warrants had been issued for Williams’ arrest because of his connection with a shooting that occurred in Bismarck on September 13, 2016.

Acting on that information they attempted to make contact with him there. Williams fled on foot from the hotel and was pursued by police officers to an area South of Century Ave and east of Centennial Rd. A search was conducted in that area which included the use of a Bismarck K9 and a fixed wing aircraft from the North Dakota Highway Patrol. Williams was not located during that search.
Around 2:30 a.m. police received information that Williams may be in a residence on the 2600 block of Yorktown Dr. A perimeter was set up and police attempted to make contact with Williams. Before contact could be made with Williams, he gave himself up to the authorities on scene. He was taken into custody and transported to the Burleigh County Detention Center.
