[ARCHIVED] City of Bismarck Missed Garbage Collection and Schedule Changes

Because of the Thanksgiving Holiday, Friday’s garbage collection was moved to Monday.  Due to the extreme winter storm on Monday, November 28th, we were unable to add additional staff for Friday’s garbage collection and most of Monday’s garbage collection.

Due to the snow event, we are forced to skip the Friday and Monday’s holiday garbage collection.  Friday’s garbage collection will be December 2nd and Monday’s route will be December 5th.  The Wednesday and Thursday routes will be collected as normally scheduled.  Do not put your garbage can out until your street has been plowed as it makes it difficult for the plow operator to make progress.

We are sorry for the inconvenience this has caused and hope you understand as we had no control over this extreme situation.  The landfill is open if you’d like to dispose of your garbage before your normal garbage collection day.  Residents from the Friday and Monday routes may dispose of their garbage at the landfill, at no charge, by showing their driver’s license to the scale house operator.  Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
