Snow emergency routes have been plowed but roads remain covered with ice and compacted snow making travel speeds greatly reduced. Non-emergency routes have not been plowed and contain deep snow and drifts; some roads remain impassable for normal vehicle traffic. Visibility has improved somewhat in the area. The no travel advisory remains in effect until further notice.
City snow plows have been working since early morning hours and throughout the day. City snow plows are continuing to work to plow the emergency routes. We expect to continue to plow the emergency routes into Tuesday night and Wednesday until the snow and wind subside. Once the blizzard is over, major arterials and residential streets will begin to be plowed. Please remove vehicles from all city streets to aid in snow removal operation. Keep them off the street until the plows have cleaned your area. We want to thank the citizens for their cooperation during this blizzard event.
We ask that contractors cleaning parking lots DO NOT push the snow into the street or across the street onto the boulevard. If you’ve already done this, please remove the snow and haul it to the landfill.

Please do not travel. You do so at our own risk. You may become stranded and emergency responders may not be able to reach you safely.
