[ARCHIVED] City of Bismarck No Travel Advisory Update – Limited Travel

Bismarck Police Chief Dan Donlin advises limited travel within the City of Bismarck until further notice.  Snow emergency routes have been plowed and are open with limited use of lanes. Operators are currently working to plow major arterial routes.  They’re pushing their way through and making a pass through the middle to open up the roads using front-end loaders to remove the snow, which makes for slow going.

“We ask residents to give the snow plow operators enough time to get through the residential areas and not to travel unless it’s absolutely necessary,” said Chief Donlin. “Please be patient as Snow Removal crews are working as fast as they can to clear the streets to make them passable.

Due to the amount of snow residential streets remain impassible and residents are getting stuck in neighborhoods. Stranded vehicles blocking the roadways and intersections are creating unsafe conditions for law enforcement, emergency vehicles, first responders and snowplows. Roads may be impassible or blocked.
