[ARCHIVED] Snow Removal Operations 12:00 p.m.

City of Bismarck snow removal crews worked through the night plowing emergency, major arterials, schools and residential routes.  The lighter snow is much easier to plow so operators are able to move a bit more swiftly through neighborhoods to clear the snow than they did last three storms.

The City continued to plow snow emergency routes plow through the night to keep them open. Some of the snow emergency routes are narrowed by snow or missing a lane. Please, drive carefully. Be courteous to other drivers in areas narrowed by snow and allow them to merge into traffic. Crews will begin widening emergency routes and casting snow as soon as they complete the major arterial streets and residential routes.

We thank residents for their continued patience and resiliency as we work to clear the streets.

We ask that contractors cleaning parking lots DO NOT push the snow into the street or across the street onto the boulevard.

According to City Ordinance a person may not move, dump or deposit by any means any snow or ice accumulated on private property onto any public street, alley, or public right-of-way.  The fine for this violation is up to $1,000.

Mailbox Clearance - It is the property owner’s responsibility to clear snow around their mailbox.  If it is a cluster box, it is the responsibility of these residents to clear the snow from around the cluster box.
