[ARCHIVED] Bismarck Temporarily Suspends 24 Hour Requirement for Sidewalk Snow Removal

Starting immediately Bismarck temporarily suspends the 24-hour requirement for sidewalk snow removal granting property owner's additional time.

Bismarck City Ordinance requires owners of land abutting any sidewalk to keep the sidewalk clean and unobstructed at all times and to remove snow and ice within 24 hours after the snow falls.

On December 29, 2015 the Bismarck Board of City Commissioners approved a request by the City Engineer to temporarily suspend the requirement to remove snow from city sidewalks within 24 hours after a snowfall through January 30, 2017.

The City of Bismarck encourages property owners to keep sidewalks clean after a snow event.  The city will continue to enforce the City Ordinance, but is granting property owner's additional time to come into compliance due to the recent snow events.
