The Bismarck Mayor’s Human Relations Committee will hold a Human Rights Essay and Poetry contest for students in grades 4 – 5, calling upon them to write an essay or a poem that fosters respect for Human Rights; and grades 6 – 8, to write about their concept of leadership for Human Rights. Entries must be postmarked or e-mailed by 5:00 p.m. February 17, 2017. Please limit entries to one page. Two outstanding entries from each age level for each category will be selected; one essay and one poem from each. Outstanding entries will be recognized at a ceremony at a date to be announced when Mayor Seminary will present the selected entrants with a special award. The selected essays or poems will be displayed on the City of Bismarck web site.
