The Bismarck Mayor’s Economic Development Advisory Group announces the Bismarck Mayor’s Livability Summit. The event will take place March 9, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 pm, at the National Energy Center of Excellence, Bismarck State College, Bavendick State Room, 1200 Schafer St., Bismarck.
The Summit is all about the future of the City Bismarck. Who should attend? Bismarck residents, college students, commuters, visitors, retirees, business owners, young professionals, public officials, organizations, and non-profits are extended an open invitation to have one of the most significant community conversations in the history of Bismarck. All are welcome to explore fresh ideas and have a community conversation about what citizens want to cultivate progress and invest in Bismarck’s future! The purpose of the summit is to gather input to improve the long-term environment of our community – one that drives economic growth, quality of life, community leadership and diversity, making Bismarck a global community of choice.
Doors open at 8 A.M., program begins at 9:00 am. Mayor Mike Seminary will kick-off the Summit and provide an overview of the Bismarck Livability survey results. Inspirational and dynamic speaker, Monsignor James Shea, University of Mary President, will lead off the program with opening remarks. Governor Doug Burgum has been invited to discuss his Main Street Initiative, a skilled workforce, smart efficient infrastructure and healthy vibrant communities.
Morning and afternoon sessions will include discussion panels led by Community Stakeholder presenters representing community sectors including Education; Art, Humanities and Recreation; Commerce and Development; Business and Innovation and Community Services and Healthcare. Each sector represented will present and explore what the community wants to cultivate progress and invest in Bismarck’s future. Panelist presentations will be followed by question and answer sessions with questions sought from attendees.
