[ARCHIVED] Bismarck Fire Department responds to mobile home fire

At approximately 5:37 AM on Monday, November 27, the Bismarck Fire Department responded to a report of a mobile home fire in the 700 block of South 12th Street. While enroute, crews received a report from central dispatch that the home was possibly occupied. The first arriving fire crew gave an initial report of heavy smoke and fire showing from the front of the structure and one resident who had self-evacuated from the home. The crew established command and entered the structure to search for additional occupants.  Crews conducted a primary and secondary search and reported the home clear of occupants.  Additional fire units arrived and assisted with fire attack, secondary search, extinguishment, ventilation, and overhaul.  One person went to the hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation.  Six Fire Department apparatus and sixteen firefighters were dispatched to the scene.

Bismarck Police Department assisted with scene control.  Central Dakota Communications Center coordinated radio traffic between all emergency services.  Fire Department Chaplain was called on scene to support the displaced family and the Red Cross is providing lodging and assistance.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
