[ARCHIVED] Bismarck Fire Department responds to second mobile home fire this week

At approximately 8:12 AM on Wednesday, November 29, the Bismarck Fire Department responded to a report of a fire under the deck of a mobile home in the 1700 block of East Rosser Avenue. The first arriving fire crew gave an initial report of heavy smoke and fire showing from the front of the structure, the crew established command and went in to investigate. Investigation found fire in the entryway and extension into the interior of the mobile home. The fire crew laid a fire attack hoseline, and proceeded to fight the fire.  Crews conducted a primary search of the home for occupants and confirmed that no one was inside.


Additional fire units arrived and assisted with fire attack, secondary search, extinguishment, ventilation, and overhaul. The fire spread to the neighboring mobile home which was approximately 20 ft. away. Fire damage to the neighboring home was limited to the exterior of the structure.  Five Fire Department apparatus and sixteen firefighters were dispatched to the scene. The Bismarck Police Department assisted with scene control.  Metro Area Ambulance was on scene to provide medical support. Central Dakota Communications Center coordinated radio traffic between all emergency services.  The Fire Department Chaplain was called on scene to support the displaced occupant and the Red Cross was notified. No one was home at time of the fire.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
