At approximately 2:59 PM on Monday, January 8, 2018, the Central Dakota Communications Center received a report of a trailer home on fire on the 2400 block of East Thayer Avenue. The Bismarck Fire Department was dispatched to investigate. The first arriving fire crew reported a single wide trailer house with smoke showing. The fire crew established command and conducted a scene size-up. The fire crew deployed a fire attack hoseline and entered the trailer home to conduct a primary search for possible occupants, and to locate the fire. Additional fire units arrived and assisted with fire attack, primary search, extinguishment, secondary search, ventilation, and overhaul. The primary search of the building confirmed that no one was inside. Investigating crews found heavy smoke and fire spread within the main living area of the trailer. Crews extinguished the fire and ventilated the building. Six fire department apparatus and 17 firefighters were dispatched to the scene. Bismarck Police Department assisted with scene control. Metro Area Ambulance was on scene to provide assistance. The fire was determined to be in the front living area of the trailer house and the house was unoccupied at the time of the fire. There was fire and heat damage to the front portion of the trailer and smoke damage throughout. The cause of the fire has been classified as undetermined.
