The Bismarck-Mandan Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) will hold a public hearing Monday, May 14, 2018 at 10:00 am regarding proposed amendments to the Bismarck-Mandan MPO 2017-2020 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and the 2015-2040 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP). The hearing will be held in conjunction with the regularly scheduled meeting of the Bismarck-Mandan MPO Technical Advisory Committee in the Bis-Man Transit facility Training Room at 3750 E. Rosser Avenue, Bismarck, ND.
The purpose of the hearing is to provide an opportunity for public involvement in the review of the proposed amendments to the 2017-2020 TIP and the 2015-2040 LRTP. The proposed amendments are identical for each document, and introduce a discussion of Performance Based Planning and the adoption of Safety Performance Targets established by NDDOT. The amendment is required under 23 CFR Part 450, and must be completed by May 27, 2018.
The proposed amendments will be available for citizens to review beginning May 7, 2018. It may be viewed on the MPO website or at the Bismarck-Mandan MPO office located within the Bismarck Community Development Department, 221 N. 5th Street, Bismarck, North Dakota. Following the consideration period of citizen's comments, the proposed amendments will be presented to the MPO Policy Board for possible adoption into the 2017-2020 TIP and 2015-2040 LRTP. The possible adoption is contingent upon no substantive changes resulting from public comments.
