[ARCHIVED] Bismarck Fire Department responds to house fire



At approximately 7:50 PM on Saturday, May 26th, 2018, the Central Dakota Communications Center received a report of a house fire at 2524 Hillview Ave. The Bismarck Fire Department was dispatched to the incident.
 
The first arriving officer gave an initial report of light smoke showing from the exterior roof vents and confirmed that all occupants had evacuated. Attack lines were advanced to the attic space to attack the fire located in the area above the kitchen.  Interior fire crews pulled ceiling and insulation to expose the area of the fire.

The fire was under control in approximately 30 minutes. There was heavy fire damage to the attic space and roof above the kitchen with light smoke damage throughout the house.

12 fire personnel responded to the fire with 3 fire engines, 1 rescue truck and 1 Command vehicle. The Bismarck Police Department provided traffic control and assistance to the fire department. Metro Area Ambulance was on scene to provide medical care if needed.

A preliminary damage estimate is $50,000.00. There were no injuries at this incident.
Upon completion of the fire departments investigation it was determined the cause of the fire was accidental and electrical in nature.
