[ARCHIVED] Bismarck Fire Department responds to backyard fire.

At approximately 4:19 AM on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, the Central Dakota Communications Center received a report of outside rubbish or waste fire at a house on the 300 block of South 12th Street. The Bismarck Fire Department was dispatched to investigate.

The first arriving fire crew reported a wood pile on fire in the back yard of a single family home. The fire crew deployed a fire attack hose line and completed the extinguishment. An additional fire unit arrived on scene and assisted in overhauling the wood pile.

Two fire department apparatus and seven firefighters were dispatched to the scene. Bismarck Police Department assisted with scene control. Damage caused by the fire was limited to the area of the wood pile. The homeowner was at home at the time of the fire. There were no injuries to the building’s occupants or firefighters. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Bismarck Police Department.
